Chin and Cheek Enhancement

Strengthening the chin and jaw line profiles can dramatically improve the appearance. Chin augmentation may be performed by one of two techniques. For the patient requiring a small correction or having the procedure done in conjunction with a facelift, an implant is placed either through a small incision inside the mouth or under the chin. For patients requiring a larger chin augmentation, the chin bone itself can be enlarged. This is performed through a small incision inside the mouth. To improve the jaw line, an implant can be placed on either side of the jaw producing a stronger squarer look.

Highlighting the entire face, the cheeks play a key role in defining its aesthetic proportions. The cheek bone consists of five regions which are carefully assessed by Dr. Schneider. Based on this evaluation, Dr. Schneider individually tailors and places a cheek implant either through an incision in the mouth or under the eye, making the cheekbone and face more refined.

For those seeking more defined cheeks and elimination of a round face, buccal fat pad reduction is the answer. The buccal fat pad is a little ball of fat located in the cheek below the cheekbone. Buccal fat pad reduction is a procedure that takes approximately 20 minutes. Removal of the fat produces a more sculptured facial appearance.
