What is board certification?

The American Board of Medical Specialties was established in 1933 to maintain and improve the quality of Medical care in the U.S. The ABMS is made up of member boards, which include the American Board of Plastic Surgery, one of 24 approved medical specialties.

Are all physicians who practice plastic or cosmetic surgery board certified?

No! Only those physicians certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery can make that claim. There are no laws prohibiting physicians without ABPS certification from performing Plastic or Cosmetic Surgery. There are only approximately 6000 board certified Plastic Surgeons. However, 50,000 physicians perform plastic surgery procedures nationwide.

Where is your office located?

We are located on US.41 (Tamiami Trail) in Fort Myers, Florida. Fort Myers is 2 hours south of Tampa and 30 minutes north of Naples on the Florida Gulf Coast. Southwest Florida Regional Airport is located 10 minutes from our office.

If I am traveling from outside the area, what accommodations are available?

We have arrangements with several hotels in direct proximity to the office for our patients. Arrangements for luxurious accommodations on the beach can also be made. Please call Treva, our Cosmetic Surgery Coordinator to help you with your plans.

Where are your procedures performed?

All of our Cosmetic Surgery Procedures are performed at our AAAHC certified office surgery center at the Schneider Centre for Plastic Surgery.
