Choosing the right Plastic Surgeon and the right “office” to work with is as important as picking the procedure that is appropriate for you. Not only should you be comfortable with the approach and the procedure you choose together, you should be just as comfortable with your surgeon as a caregiver. Your plastic surgeons experience, training and background as well as his ability to work with you harmoniously, are key elements in making your decision.

At the Schneider Centre for Plastic Surgery, we like to say, “We specialize in you”. We will spend a great deal of time trying to understand your desires. Some procedures and some patients are very straightforward.  Others may require more time and greater exploration.  We will give you as much time as you need so that you are comfortable with our approach and so that procedure chosen, meets your goals.

A patient’s anatomical variations and what they desire vary greatly. A breast augmentation may be right for one patient, but another may desire a breast lift and augmentation once the choices and possibilities are explained.  In some cases, the results that a patient desires may not be achievable.  We pride ourselves in giving honest and forthright opinions.  In some cases, it may mean that in our opinion, the patient should not have surgery.

Many patients after meeting with Dr. Schneider will ask if they can bring in their spouse or significant other so that we can explain our approach to them.  We welcome this opportunity as educating the patient and their family is the best approach to patient satisfaction. As always, our elective cosmetic surgery consultations are complimentary.

Education:  Dr. Schneider graduated with a bachelor in arts degree (BA) from Drew University, Madison, New Jersey, in 1979. He then spent several years abroad and graduated from medical school in 1984 from Ross University (MD). Throughout his medical school education, Dr. Schneider would spend his summer and winter vacations in an externship with Carl Quillen, MD who is a plastic surgeon and at the time was Chief of Plastic Surgery at UMDNJ, Newark. 

Following his graduation from medical school, Dr. Schneider spent five years in general surgery residency at Conemaugh Hospital /Temple University. He was chief resident there in 1989 and graduated and received his General Surgery Board Certification in 1991. While in Johnstown, Dr. Schneider started an animal laboratory where with Joel Borkow, MD, he performed research on tissue expansion, a technique he now uses for breast reconstruction.  Several studies, publications, and presentations were made as a result of this research.

In 1991, Dr. Schneider began his Plastic Surgery education at the University of Kansas, one of the oldest Plastic Surgery programs in the United States.  He graduated as chief resident in Plastic Surgery in 1993 and received his Plastic Surgery board certification in 1993.  Dr. Schneider began practice in Fort Myers in September of 1991.
